## What the amendments focus on

This dossier concerns plant breeding and options to increase quality and yields. The amendments address the importance of an effective plant-breeding sector for food supply and climate change, developing new crop varieties tolerant of drought, precipitation and plant diseases, preserving genetic and plant diversity, plant variety rights and intellectual property under Council Regulation (EC) No 2100/94, sustainable agriculture, and research funding through Horizon 2020.
