# European strategy on plastic waste in the environment

## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report concerns a European strategy on plastic waste in the environment. Amendments focus on employment effects, the job-creation potential of recycling, re-use and the circular economy, and the need for impact assessments, training and the European Social Fund to support green jobs. They address waste, packaging and WEEE legislation, hazardous and biodegradable plastics, illegal exports and dumping, and awareness-raising.
