## What the amendments focus on

A report on public access to documents 2011-2013. The amendments stress transparency as essential to democracy and the fight against corruption, broad public access to documents and the definition of exceptions under Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, the deadlocked revision of that regulation, the transparency of international agreements and of informal trilogues between the Commission, Parliament and the Council, and the balance between transparency and data protection.
