## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on the long-term financing of the European economy. The amendments address the impact of the global financial and sovereign debt crises on financial intermediation and investment, the role of public and private long-term investment, fiscal consolidation and the Stability and Growth Pact, and difficulties for SMEs in accessing capital. Others reference non-bank finance sources, a Financial Transaction Tax, green investment and climate and energy objectives.
