## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns trade in certain goods that could be used for capital punishment, torture or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment. The amendments adjust the export authorisation system for listed goods, prohibit related brokering services and technical assistance, cover transit, introduce an end-use clause, exempt medicinal products for legitimate therapeutic purposes, require customs authorities to share information, and revise definitions of torture and broker.
