## What the amendments focus on

A proposed recast of the Union Code on Visas (Visa Code). Amendments concern airport transit visas, issuing visas at the external border and online pre-registration for short-term tourism, electronic and online application forms, time limits for deciding applications, VIS registered regular travellers, consulate competence and distance rules, biometric data, seafarers, and a multilingual Schengen visa internet website.
