## What the amendments focus on

A consent procedure on the adoption by Lithuania of the euro on 1 January 2015. The amendments diverge between endorsing or merely noting the adoption and rejecting the Commission proposal, and add remarks on the absence of a referendum, the convergence criteria on inflation, deficit, debt, exchange rate and long-term interest rates, austerity measures and their effects on unemployment, poverty, emigration and inequality, tax reform, and criticism that the convergence criteria are insufficient for macroeconomic sustainability.
