## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on new challenges and concepts for the promotion of tourism in Europe. The amendments frame tourism as a driver of socio-economic growth and job creation, address rural tourism, youth unemployment, digitalisation of SMEs and the Commission's Digital Tourism Platform, tap third-country markets including the BRIC countries through tourist visa arrangements, and promote thematic forms of tourism.
