## What the amendments focus on

This dossier concerns the 2014 discharge for the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA). The amendments propose postponing the discharge and closure of accounts, stress ESMA's role in a common supervisory regime and financial stability, that it must keep to the tasks assigned by the Union legislator, criticise its transparency and the keeping of the legislator informed, and question its mixed financing arrangement relying on national competent authorities.
