## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on cohesion policy and research and innovation strategies for smart specialisation (RIS3). Amendments stress limited budgetary resources for research, development and innovation during economic crisis, the need to create smart and sustainable growth, the role of the European Regional Development Fund and European Structural and Investment Funds and their synergies with Horizon 2020, and concerns that cohesion policy has not reduced regional disparities in RDI.
