## What the amendments focus on

This codecision dossier concerns energy efficiency. The amendments debate binding Union energy efficiency targets for 2030 ranging across 30, 40 and 45 percent and national targets, link them to the 'energy efficiency first' principle, the Energy Union Strategy, the EU Emissions Trading System and the Paris Agreement, and address the cumulative end-use savings obligation extended beyond 2020 and building renovation.
