## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative dossier concerns EU strategic communication to counteract propaganda against it by third parties. The amendments revise citations and recitals on information, disinformation and misinformation campaigns and propaganda from state and non-state actors in the east and south, definitions of 'propaganda' and 'disinformation', media freedom, pluralism and fact-checking, EU values, and references to Russia's disinformation campaigns and an Action Plan on strategic communication.
