## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative dossier concerns cross-border mergers and divisions of companies. The amendments call for an EU framework on cross-border divisions and transfers of registered office, revision of the existing cross-border mergers Directive, harmonisation of procedural standards and corporate-governance rules, protection of workers' rights to information, consultation, participation and board-level representation, and safeguards against using the rules for abusive purposes or tax evasion.
