## What the amendments focus on

This dossier sets minimum requirements on work-life balance for parents and carers. The amendments rework definitions and entitlements for paternity, maternity, parental and carers' leave, the scope of who counts as a worker (including self-employed and the case law of the Court of Justice), and obligations on Member States to prohibit dismissal or less favourable treatment of workers who take such leave or use flexible working arrangements.
