## What the amendments focus on

Own-initiative report on the European Central Bank annual report for 2016. The amendments concern the proposed amendment to Article 22 of the ECB Statute to give the Eurosystem a role over central counterparties (CCPs), the status of cash and the euro as legal tender, restrictions on cash payments, a possible central bank digital currency, virtual currencies, blockchain technology and cyber-security in the financial sector.
