## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report recommends positions on Hong Kong, 20 years after the handover. Amendments revise recitals on the 1984 Sino-British Joint Declaration and the 1990 Basic Law, the 'one country, two systems' principle and Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy, the Structured Dialogue and trade, human rights, civil society, press and academic freedom, the disappearance of booksellers, universal suffrage, and the Hong Kong Climate Action Plan.
