## What the amendments focus on

Legislative own-initiative report with recommendations to the Commission on European humanitarian visas. Amendments debate the lack of a European legal framework and protected entry procedures, the Visa Code (Regulation 810/2009), the Geneva Convention, case C-638/16 (X and X v État belge), irregular arrivals and deaths at the borders, and Member States' discretion to issue visas on humanitarian grounds.
