## What the amendments focus on

This dossier concerns complementing EU type-approval legislation with regard to the withdrawal of the United Kingdom from the Union. The amendments allow manufacturers holding a UK type-approval to obtain Union type-approval from another Member State's authority, so vehicles, systems, components and separate technical units can continue to be placed on the Union market, relying on existing test reports where requirements remain identical, for approvals granted after 1 January 2008.
