## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns putting into effect the remaining provisions of the Schengen acquis relating to the Schengen Information System in Bulgaria and Romania. The amendments recall the Council's conclusion that Bulgaria and Romania fulfilled the conditions of the Schengen acquis and the earlier decision on the Visa Information System, provide for issuing and executing SIS alerts for refusing entry or stay, and set a date for lifting the remaining restrictions.
