# Language equality in the digital age

## What the amendments focus on

The own-initiative report concerns language equality in the digital age. The amendments address the EU's 24 official languages alongside regional, minority and sign languages, the risk of digital language extinction, language and human language technologies, machine translation, the Digital Single Market and multilingualism, funding and coordinated research, the role of SMEs and research centres, and the relationship with artificial intelligence.
