## What the amendments focus on

This report concerns blockchain as a forward-looking trade policy. The amendments define blockchain as distributed ledger technology, reference the WTO and the European Blockchain Partnership, and address how it could support free trade agreements, mutual recognition agreements, authorised economic operators, trade defence instruments, supply-chain transparency, customs and regulatory compliance, rules of origin, and combating fraud, money laundering and counterfeiting.
