## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns the full application of the Schengen acquis in Bulgaria and Romania, abolishing checks at internal land, sea and air borders. The amendments recall that both countries met the conditions confirmed by the Council in 2011, regret the Council's repeated postponement, debate a two-step approach splitting abolition of checks into separate legal acts, and cite free movement, consulting Parliament, and the Visa Information System and Schengen Information System.
