# State of EU-Russia political relations

## What the amendments focus on

The dossier concerns the state of EU-Russia political relations. The amendments invoke international law, human rights and credible deterrence, the occupation and annexation of Crimea and the conflict in eastern Ukraine, implementation of the Minsk Agreement as a precondition for closer cooperation, restrictive measures, the cases of Sergei Magnitsky and Oleg Sentsov, and Russia's commitments within the Council of Europe and the OSCE.
