## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative report's amendments concern the functioning of the Schengen area. They address the reintroduction and prolongation of internal border controls, the COVID-19 pandemic and travel restrictions, external-border management and Frontex, alleged pushbacks and violence against migrants, the Schengen Evaluation Mechanism, the Schengen Information System and interoperability of EU information systems, and full application of the Schengen acquis.
