## What the amendments focus on

This dossier addresses the role of development policy in responding to biodiversity loss in developing countries in the context of the 2030 Agenda. The amendments cite instruments such as the Convention on Biological Diversity, CITES, CMS, the Sustainable Development Goals (notably SDG 14) and IPBES reports, and link biodiversity to livelihoods, indigenous peoples and local communities, ecosystem services, fisheries, deforestation, agricultural expansion, zoonotic diseases and pandemics including COVID-19.
