## What the amendments focus on

The dossier establishes a Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). Amendments rework recitals on the European Green Deal, carbon leakage, the EU ETS free-allocation system and equivalent carbon pricing for imported goods, invoke WTO/GATT compatibility and the Paris Agreement, and add references to agriculture, deforestation, imported emissions and the goal of climate neutrality by 2050.
