## What the amendments focus on

The dossier is a proposed recast regulation on fishing in the General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM) Agreement area. The amendments address implementing binding GFCM recommendations in Union law, the European Fisheries Control Agency, scientific monitoring including recreational fisheries, restrictions protecting juveniles, catch and bycatch declarations and VMS, demersal stocks such as European hake, registers of authorised vessels, measures against IUU fishing, and research on blue crab.
