## What the amendments focus on

A legislative file on the welfare of dogs and cats and their traceability. The amendments set minimum welfare requirements and thresholds for breeding establishments, selling establishments, pet shops, animal shelters and foster homes; require identification via transponder and Member State databases to fight illegal trade and online sales; and address consumer information, zoonotic and biodiversity risks, and humane control of stray and feral cats.
