# Implementation of the rule of law conditionality regime

## What the amendments focus on

This report concerns implementation of the rule of law conditionality regime. The amendments invoke the founding values in Article 2 TEU and Article 7, debate the Conditionality Regulation's role in protecting the EU budget, reference cases involving Hungary and Poland, address protection of final recipients and beneficiaries, and dispute whether the mechanism is applied impartially or used for politically motivated assaults on Member States.
