## What the amendments focus on

This own-initiative dossier sets out a recommendation on the EU's diplomatic strategy and geopolitical cooperation in the Arctic. The amendments revise citations and recitals on the Arctic as a zone of peace and a fragile ecosystem, Russia's military build-up and increased Chinese presence, indigenous peoples, the Arctic Council, the UNCLOS and the Paris Agreement, warming, melting sea ice, thawing permafrost, and commercial corridors such as the Northern Sea Route.
