# Mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers following an application from Austria - EGF/2025/005 AT/KTM

European Parliament procedure 2026/0037(BUD) (BUD, 10th term, committee BUDG). Stage: None. 19 committee amendments tabled by 5 Members between 2026-03-05 and 2026-03-05.

## What the amendments focus on

This procedure concerns mobilisation of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund following an application from Austria regarding displaced workers at KTM. Amendments note that KTM, the largest motorcycle producer in the Union and a subsidiary of Pierer Mobility AG, filed for insolvency on 29 November 2024 and that a restructuring plan was approved on 25 February 2025, criticising dividend distributions in 2021 and 2024 and the parent company's decision to move production to China and India. They record that Austria is entitled to EUR 1 806 624, representing 60 percent of the total cost of EUR 3 011 040, describe personalised services (case management, career guidance, training and retraining, job-search, training allowances) and rising unemployment in the Braunau district, and call for cost-effectiveness and final evaluations while some voices question the mobilisation on subsidiarity grounds.
