## What the amendments focus on

An own-initiative report on EU-Syria political relations. Following the fall of the Assad regime, the amendments address the transitional authorities and elections, the return of refugees and internally displaced people, and the continuing threat from Daesh. They condemn violence against religious and ethnic minorities including Christians, Alawite and Druze communities, call for withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Golan Heights, and stress transitional justice, accountability, women's participation and support for reconstruction, energy and humanitarian assistance.
