Summary
A legislative proposal concerning the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund and the Common Fisheries Policy. Amendments link EMFF assistance to compliance with CFP rules, address reducing fleet overcapacity, conservation measures and a regionalised approach, fishing capacity defined by tonnage and power, Natura 2000 areas and good environmental status, maximum sustainable yield, discards and by-catches, jobs in fishing communities, and aquaculture's environmental impact.
