Summary
This dossier is a framework decision on the exchange of information extracted from criminal records between Member States. The few amendments call for adopting a framework decision on protecting personal data in police and judicial cooperation, set basic data-processing principles of lawfulness, necessity and proportionality, and prohibit, save by exception, processing of sensitive data such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, beliefs and health.
