Summary
This dossier concerns food enzymes. The amendments set conditions for approving and using food enzymes (safety, technological need, no misleading of consumers and benefit to the consumer), establish a Community list with specifications and origin including allergenic properties, apply the precautionary principle and a common authorisation procedure, address genetically modified food enzymes, and lay down labelling, naming and ingredient-listing requirements.
