Summary
This dossier revises the European Parliament's Rules of Procedure concerning the petition process. The amendments address consideration of admissible petitions by the responsible committee, drawing up own-initiative reports or motions for resolutions, designation of a representative where a petition has several signatories, requesting information from the Commission, establishing admissibility under Article 194 of the EC Treaty, petitioners' rights to anonymity and confidentiality, and citizens' initiatives.
