Extension of the provisions of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 and Regulation (EC) No 987/2009 to nationals of third countries who are not already covered by these provisions solely on the ground of their nationality

A proposal extending the social-security coordination provisions of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 and its implementing regulation to third-country nationals not already covered solely on the ground of their nationality, together with their family members and survivors legally resident in a Member State. Amendments add an Annex provision for Germany limiting family benefits to third-country nationals meeting German conditions, and call for the Commission to introduce simplified common procedures for recognising their status.
