Summary
This dossier, part of the third energy package, concerns conditions for access to the network for cross-border exchanges in electricity. The amendments build on Directive 2003/54/EC and Regulation 1228/2003, establish the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity cooperating with the new Agency, mandate technical and market codes on security, grid connection, data exchange and interoperability, a ten-year investment plan covering smart grids and renewables, and Commission/Agency oversight.
