Summary
A legislative dossier on the safety of toys. The amendments concern essential safety requirements, the precautionary principle, replacement of dangerous substances including CMR and allergenic substances, avoidance of duplicate evaluation with the REACH Regulation, harmonised transition periods, CE marking and manufacturer responsibility, border controls, and rules for toys intended for children under 14 years of age and toys in contact with food.
