Summary
A Council proposal on the common agricultural policy support schemes for farmers. The amendments set progressive reductions of direct payments above defined euro thresholds, allow Member States to use shares of their national ceilings for specific or integrated support, target sectors such as dairy, rice, beef, sheep and goat, and establish contributions to insurance premiums and mutual funds compensating losses from adverse climatic events and animal or plant disease.
