Medicinal products for human use: prevention of the entry into the legal supply chain of falsified medicinal products

A proposed directive preventing the entry of falsified medicinal products into the legal supply chain for medicinal products for human use. Amendments add Commission reporting on falsified and counterfeit medicines, address sales over the internet and mail-order pharmacies, define 'falsified medicinal product', and elaborate safety features ensuring identification, authentication and traceability of prescription and over-the-counter products, including equivalence rules and Member State authentication arrangements.
