Summary
An own-initiative report on a new culture for urban mobility. The amendments stress the subsidiarity principle and a supporting EU role alongside towns and cities, link urban mobility to climate change, CO2 and greenhouse gas emissions, pollution, congestion, noise, accidents and the Kyoto Protocol, call for tailor-made policy mixes and modal shift, and address economic, social and territorial cohesion, commuters, an ageing population and people with reduced mobility.
