Summary

An own-initiative report towards a European Cormorant Management Plan to minimise the impact of cormorants on fish stocks, fisheries and aquaculture. The amendments address damage to aquaculture and wild fish stocks, the cormorant's conservation status under the Wild Birds Directive, monitoring and an annually updated database of cormorant populations, derogations permitting culling, a working party and cost-benefit analysis, clarification of 'serious damage', and EU funding for data collection.
