Summary
A regulation establishing the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Amendments set out the Authority's autonomous budget and discharge, its power to issue guidelines and recommendations to national supervisory authorities after public consultation, and a breach-of-Union-law procedure under which the Authority and the Commission may issue recommendations, formal opinions and binding decisions, with the Insurance and Reinsurance Stakeholder Group, the European Parliament and Article 258 TFEU referenced.
