Summary
An own-initiative report on the Council's annual report on the main aspects and basic choices of the common foreign and security policy (CFSP) in 2008. Amendments address the EU as a global player, the Treaty of Lisbon, the Vice-President/High Representative and the European External Action Service, funding of the CFSP budget and ESDP missions, the balance of civilian and military instruments, crisis management, and Parliament's democratic role.
