Modification of the Act concerning the election of the Members of the European Parliament

This own-initiative report concerns modification of the Act on the election of the Members of the European Parliament. The amendments debate falling turnout, representative democracy and Union citizenship under the Treaties, the proposal to elect some Members from a single EU-wide constituency on pan-European lists with gender representation, the redistribution of seats among States by degressive proportionality, the date of European elections, representation of women and minorities, and eligibility conditions for candidates.
