Simplification of the CAP

This own-initiative report concerns simplification of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The amendments stress reducing administrative burdens and implementation costs for farmers, Member States and payment bodies, impact assessments and proportionality, clearer and more flexible legislation, advice and help to farmers including a telephone helpline, a more market-oriented CAP, and references to electronic identification of sheep and goats and the Lisbon Treaty.
