Agriculture in areas with natural handicaps: a special health check

The dossier is an own-initiative report on agriculture in areas with natural handicaps. The amendments address a strategy for intermediate disadvantaged areas and disparities between Member States, the use of biophysical and socio-economic criteria and a depopulation criterion in the fine-tuning, the 66% threshold and mapping of areas, transitional periods for areas losing status, compensatory payments for less-favoured areas, and coordination between agricultural and cohesion policy.
