Summary
An own-initiative report on the enforcement of intellectual property rights in the internal market. The amendments distinguish commercial counterfeiting from non-commercial online piracy, address EU-wide licensing, sanctions and the liability of communications providers, fundamental rights and privacy of net users, the European Counterfeiting and Piracy Observatory, and the impact of counterfeiting on health-related and other products.
