Future of the CAP after 2013

This own-initiative report on the future of the Common Agricultural Policy after 2013 sets out Parliament's own non-binding position on the subject rather than enacting law. It was handled by the Agriculture and Rural Development and Budgets committees, under the subject of agricultural policy and economies. The tabled amendments reference the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and Parliament's power over the agricultural budget, and call for a fairly financed CAP, a fair distribution of payments between old and new Member States, direct aid conditioned on new challenges, support for rural development, sustainable farming systems, market measures against price volatility, and efforts to attract younger generations and women to rural areas.
